Newborn & Pediatric Intake
Service Description
Children below the age of 8 typically do not receive acupuncture needles at this tender age. Most results can be achieved by treatments utilizing cranial sacral therapy, tui na, moxibustion & shonishin (Japanese pediatric therapy). Infants are welcome to receive craniosacral therapy while nursing, bottle-feeding or napping. Children under the age of 14 are required to have a guardian present in the room throughout the duration of the treatment. Children ages 14 or above may receive treatment with parent or guardian present in the waiting room. A vital component of pediatric treatments are teaching our children about consent. Prior to your arrival please have frank conversations with your children about what to expect upon their visit. Inform them that they are strongly encouraged to speak freely about what does and does not feel good to their body over the course of the treatment. A consent conversation will also be had prior to treatment with the practitioner, child & guardian. Keep in mind that if your child does not like to be touched, and/or finds it difficult to relax lying down, this may not be the right treatment for them.
Sliding Scale & Payment Information
Your care is our highest priority. We offer a sliding scale to address the systemic inequities that often prohibit people from receiving care. All prices listed reflect the cost of treatment. If we can better meet both your need for consistent healthcare and your financial needs, please talk to us about sliding scale options. The patient is responsible for payment at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon. We accept Cash, Checks, Venmo, & Credit Card. At this time we do not accept insurance. If your insurance covers acupuncture we can give you a SuperBill upon request. 24 hours notice is required for cancellation & rescheduling of treatments. Except in cases of emergency, if the patient gives no notice & does not show for treatment, they will be responsible for payment in full.
