Great Embrace Acupuncture

East Asian Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine

About Us

A Medicine of the Center

At Great Embrace, we create a warm, receptive environment to engender healing and transformation in harmony with the cycles and wisdom of nature. We practice a comprehensive medicine that treats the root causes of illness through multiple approaches: needling acupuncture channels, tui na (manual bodywork therapy), cranial sacral therapy, moxibustion, prescribing herbs, cupping, gua sha and addressing lifestyle changes.

Our treatments seek to reassert flow & harmony in the presence of pain & stagnation by stimulating the 氣, qi or life energy, within a person by connecting us with our center and igniting our natural capacity for healing. Healing is a continual and dynamic process for which we need each other.  We treat the whole person by recognizing the interconnectedness of our physical, mental, emotional, social, & spiritual realities.  We seek to create spaces within ourselves and our communities for compassion, reflection, embodiment, and intentional transformation.

Our Center

Values & Vision

We celebrate being members of the LGBTQIA+ community and both identify as nonbinary. We aspire to center our values and vision for the world we are co-creating in our practice and our lives.

We acknowledge the complications of practicing a medical tradition that is inextricably born of cultures that are not our own. With tremendous gratitude & respect for the peoples, herbs & landscapes who have persisted through time, hardship & colonization to keep these traditions alive, we honor the origins of the practice and understand acupuncture as an evolving, living, & transcultural practice.

We recognize that we practice on land that was first home to the Munsee, Lenape, Schaghticoke, and Mohican people from which they were forcibly removed and subjected to acts of genocide that still go unanswered for today. It's our earnest hope to provide medicine to all people & communities marginalized and oppressed by systemic exploitation.

We envision a world where free, universal healthcare is a human right. Your care is our highest priority. We offer a sliding scale to address the systemic inequities that often prohibit people from receiving care. While all prices listed reflect the cost of treatment, if we can better meet both your need for consistent healthcare and your financial needs, please talk to us about sliding scale options.

At this time we do not accept insurance. If your insurance covers acupuncture we can give you a SuperBill upon request.

We currently practice in a sweet one room cottage in the forest in Marbletown, NY- 20ish minutes from Kingston, Woodstock, Stone Ridge, Accord, & Saugerties. We are in the process of making it ADA accessible.  In the meantime, we will travel to you and/or work with your needs if our space is inaccessible to you. Please talk to us about your accessibility needs before scheduling.
